I have gone there twice this month. Unbelievably great condition and one of the most fun courses. Yes it is challenging but not so much that it takes away from the game or the day. Every hole is great. No ordinary holes at all. Greens, tee boxes and fairways are just awesome. Cannot recommend this place enough. Worth the 89.00 which is saying something for me because I do not like paying big money for average. This is NOT average!! Both times I played the pro shop asked if I was from VA and gave us all a 10.00 discount. Second time I couldn’t pay the 79.00 quick enough. It is that good!!

So this course was round 3 of our golf trip. The first was the Golden Horseshoe which is rated much higher. With that said I thought Stonehouse was a nicer course. The fairways were in better shape and the greens were great. I understand that the course is under new ownership ans he is doing great things. I try to play new courses wherever I go but this is a must play again. I will be returning soon. Do not hesitate to book a tee time here, You will not regret it.

My wife and I are huge Mike Strantz fans and have been wanting to play Stonehouse for years. I know the course has had its problems in the past which kept us away but now…it is terrific! It was worth the wait and even though we are from Ohio, we will be back. In typical Strantz artistic fashion, every hole is unique. The fairways are wide and the greens are huge which make for an enjoyable round but because of the elevation changes and the slopes on the greens, Stonehouse is still a challenge. The conditions, facilities and staff are top notch. It must now be included with the other top courses in the area such as Golden Horseshoe Gold, Kingsmill River and another Strantz design, Royal New Kent. Thank you for rescuing this outstanding golf course. It is a must play!

Now my favorite golf course in Williamsburg. The greens, fairways, and tee boxes are pristine. It is a tough course but a fair course. We’ve played Stonehouse every year since 2001 except when closed for renovation and this course is in better shape than when it originally opened. There were some questionable years when the greens were some of the poorest in Williamsburg. That was then and this is now. The course is fantastic. We played there on 10/20/21 and definitely will be back. Outstanding!!!

Stonehouse is back – better than ever. Tee to green top notch.

Amazing come back for a course that was UGLY a few years ago. Everything is in great shape, from tee to green….especially the greens. I can’t say enough great things about Stonehouse. We will most certainly be back!

Very pleased with how the course is coming together. The fairways are lush and green and the greens have done very well and are rolling great! The thing I love most about this course is it’s ability to drain after a big rain. When other courses in the area are either closed or cart path only, Stonehouse is running full steam with usually zero cart restrictions.
The staff is awesome, very helpful and friendly. This is going to be my new go-to course.

Stonehouse is back! I just played 36 holes there on Saturday and it was great. I played with a group of 8 from all over the country. We are huge Mike Stranz fans and have played almost all of his courses. Stonehouse exceeded our expectations. We played it a while ago before it fell into disrepair. We were amazed at the course conditions, especially given the drought in VA this summer. The greens were smooth and fast. Dona and the entire staff were great. Couldn’t meet nicer people. Can’t wait to play it again! 9/19/22

Very fun and beautiful golf course. The course was in great shape and love the Mike Stranz design and challenging golf course. Good variety of holes and well worth the play.

I played 36 on Saturday Oct 2nd . This is a great Strantz course and you need to go there asap. I heard that a few years ago it was in terrible shape, but I am here to tell you that it is back in awesome condition. If this were in the DC area where I live it would be the number 1 place I go as the price is great for a course of this caliber. Go play!

It has been quite a while since I last played the course. Three friends and I had a chance to play this past Saturday. The course is simply fantastic!!! It is in great shape. Service was excellent. Each hole has its unique look and feel. You have done a wonderful job bringing one of the nicest courses back to life!

I’ve been playing this course since before it closed for renovation, and since its recent reopening. My friends and I played on 10/15/21 and we were all impresses by how far the greens have come. The course has always been just the right level of difficulty for the average weekend golfer.Even the course restaurant experience is more enjoyable than before the reopening. Both service and food are much improved. We’re looking forward to many more rounds!

The course is unforgettable. Mike Strantz would be proud of the amazing conditions the Stonehouse staff got the course to. The greens are green roll true and are well taken care of. The fairways are green and plush. This course should be on everyone’s list to play and the conditions of course will make it well worth it. Thanks Stonehouse staff for an awesome course and not letting a gem like this slip away.

I am so grateful to have this Mike Strantz masterpiece fully restored. It is a non-stop roller coaster ride. The course condition was very good. Know that you will be challenged by this course. Come with an open mind. It is a lot of fun to play.

Stonehouse has made a remarkable recovery and is a must-play course if you enjoy visionary golf and design. I have played multiple Mike Strantz courses and he always got it right. The course will bite back hard if you miss your targets but reward you if you hit them true. The design forces use of most of your clubs, there are tee shots to wisely throttle back before attacking pins. As a golf writer I played and evaluated Stonehouse just before its original opening and was thrilled it reopened. The improvements are dramatic, and the greens have recovered and putt clean. Due to my profession, I have played Augusta to Pebble Beach and most historic PGA Tour event courses. Stonehouse is a blast.
